Recruiterboom has been and is a safe space for me to learn and grow, personally and professionally. As a Human Resources Intern, I shadowed under Kate Costello, Director of Human Resources, Operations, and Administration. I participated in thorough “jam sessions” with Kate, and admired how my feedback and perspective held value and equal weight. I fell in love with recruiterboom’s work culture and the people. I wholeheartedly agreed to join recruiterboom as the Internship Program Coordinator when William and Amanda O’Connell asked me to spearhead the Internship Program. I find joy contributing to a warm and inclusive environment that offers the opportunity of growth, and I am in a role where I am able to do so.
The culture at recruiterboom provides a launching pad for opportunity that truly instilled more confidence in myself. They let me go off and do what interested me for my personal and professional development and that meant a lot to the team and me. Not only that, Amanda and Will showed me how to be a professional asset in any work environment, always vouching for us to prove our worth and to work for each other!
I am very fortunate to have stumbled upon recruiterboom while looking for an internship. I have had internships prior to recruiterboom but I do not think I truly understood the business world until I started working there. I was a key contributor to the company right when I accepted my position and was appreciated for the work I was doing right from the start. It was an invaluable experience that has paid dividends over the course of my professional career- not to mention, the culture of the company is bar none!
Prior to my internship, I had little knowledge of the staffing world. This summer I was pushed outside my comfort zone by cold calling and messaging candidates, learning the different types of recruiting and what makes a good candidate. I was also able to work on various projects that increased my excel and operational skills. This summer I learned that I want to further my career in operations.
The most valuable thing I learned was what “We Culture” is. The two founders of Recruiterboom, William O’Connell, and Amanda O’Connell taught us what it means to be in a positive environment. Every week we would read a chapter out of “We Culture” and see how we incorporate it into the culture at Recruiterboom. Because of the culture at Recrutierboom, I was not afraid to speak up or pitch new ideas to the team. Will, Amanda, and Chris have a passion for recruiting that motivated each of us to do our best and push ourselves.
My experience at Recruiterboom was extremely beneficial. I was able to build many transferable skills that helped me transition from college to the business world. I am very grateful to Will and Amanda for helping me gain valuable business experience that put me in a position to be successful after graduation. I think Recruiterboom is an excellent opportunity for a student seeking valuable internship experience.

Will and Amanda run an amazing program that allowed me to learn and grow in a professional environment. Recruiterboom has a fast and exciting culture where I was challenged to be better every day.
